Volunteering at DCS

At Devonport Christian School, we know it takes a village to raise a child and we value our community and those willing to make a contribution in the life of our school and students.

Our valued volunteers are the lifeblood of how we operate and can often be seen assisting in classrooms, breaking a sweat at the school working bees, and in the day to day operations of the school.

If you are interested in being a part of our community, please contact our office to complete the appropriate paperwork. All volunteers must also complete an induction course and provide a copy of their current ‘Working with Vulnerable People’ check before being approved.

You can check out our Volunteer Guidelines by clicking here.

Please note:

Devonport Christian School is a child protecting school and has a zero tolerance of child abuse.

We have established a series of policies, procedures and a Code of Conduct aimed to protect children from abuse and embed a culture of child safety in the school environment. A Working with Vulnerable Person’s Check is a condition of all employees, parent helpers and volunteers. Volunteers are required to pass through the school’s screening processes prior to commencing their engagement with the school. This includes an induction process that informs about the school’s statement on Child Protection, reference checking and a Working with Vulnerable Persons card.
